Peace House

February 2, 2016. The day I laid in my bed and said to myself, “Well, there’s no going back now. Nothing will ever be the same.” Because I knew that the very next day, three toddlers would move in and four more would soon follow. We were about to become the Peace House.

And I was right, nothing would ever be the same again, but I wouldn’t trade my time with these seven littles for anything.

January 2016, shortly before we moved in.

It’s been a busy year of change and growth for all of us.

Our birthday party count is at 10, each with their own cakes, presents and prayers. We are now 2, 2, 3, 4, 4, 5, and 8 years old and we love to announce this regularly.

Three and a half of us have completed the potty training process. (The “half,” is still working on it.) ;)

We have added so many English phrases to our vocabulary. “Look at me,” “Good morning,” “Hold me,” and “I love you,” are some of our favorites.

We’ve been introduced to many new foods. Cheese, M&Ms, pizza and ice cream are now on everyone’s list of favorite foods (which means a lot more sharing for me.) ;)

We love to talk about Mommies and Daddies and when we will go with them on the airplane.

We have learned so much about regulating, expressing ourselves and using our words.

And finally, I have redefined “sleeping in,” as not waking up until 7 am…

Never the same, but forever grateful.
